Warner Home Entertainment has hired LexPR Canada as its Canadian PR agency of record for its home video business.

The Toronto shop got reel by pitching Warner in a working TV studio last month with a “movie trailer” highlighting LexPR’s credentials and movie posters inspired by Warner titles like Ocean’s Eleven—which was changed to Laura’s Seven to signify the team working for LexPR president Laura Cochrane.

“We wanted to bring some entertainment to the pitch itself,” said Cochrane. “We wanted to talk to them in the same language as their business; it certainly wasn’t your typical PowerPoint presentation in front of the client.”

The agency will handle national media relations and events for 12 Canadian events that showcase and promote Warner DVD releases, as well as media outreach on an ongoing basis.

“LexPR is a highly creative shop with a stellar reputation for executing quality events,” said Dyan Eaton, manager of publicity at Warner Home Video Canada, in a release. “Its entertainment-style pitch was truly original.”
