Luc Beauregard, founding chairman of Montreal’s Res Publica Consulting Group, can now add “knight” to his title.
Beauregard was awarded the Ordre national du Québec for his outstanding career and contribution to the field of communications and public relations. He was named along with 33 other individuals and will be conferred the title Knight of the Ordre national du Québec.
“By bestowing Luc with the Quebec government’s highest honour, tribute is being paid to him for his outstanding contribution to the entire public relations profession and, hence, to Quebec society,” said Jean-Pierre Vasseur, president and CEO of Res Publica, in a release.
Beauregard founded National Public Relations in 1976 and grew the business into Canada’s largest public relations organization. The firm is now a subsidiary of Res Publica, which also includes Cohn & Wolfe, Sonic Boom and Axon Communication.
During his 40-year career, Beauregard has relentlessly provided leadership to the profession, having chaired the Canadian Public Relations Society, the North American Public Relations Council, the Canadian Public Relations Consultants Institute and the College of Fellows of the Canadian Public Relations Society.
The PR vet has won numerous awards over the years, including the President’s Award of the Société des relationnistes du Québec and Canadian Public Relations Society’s Award of Attainment. In 1996, he was also appointed a Member of the Order of Canada.
