With NHL playoff fever starting to boil over, Marketing and Canlan Ice Sports have announced the first Ad Cup hockey tournament for members and friends of Canada’s marketing industry.

Marketing is looking for agencies, production companies and media organizations of all stripes (along with their brave clients) to take part. It has even agreed to look the other way should anyone wish to register a ringer from outside the industry.

After all, it’s all for a good cause. All registration proceeds will go to NABS.

The event, which takes place at the Canlan Ice Centre in Etobicoke, Ont., will give each registered team a chance to skate in at least three games in the tournament. For those who want to show their support from the stands, there are no pricey seats. Entrance into the tournament is free for all colleagues, family and cheerleaders.

Not only will participants get a day on the ice to pit their skills against rivals in the business, but all registered players will receive 10% off tickets to the Sports Marketing Conference on June 5, and another 10% off tickets for the 2012 Marketing Awards Gala on June 8.

Teams can register for the June 1 event for $200. Registration deadline is May 16. Visit the Ad Cup website for more information on registration and sponsorship opportunities.
