Marketing Awards 2016: Multicultural jury and shorlist

Winners to be announced at The Carlu in Toronto June 2

We’re on to the next 2016 Marketing Awards shortlist!

Below you’ll find all the entries that made it through the first round and were judged by our live Multicultural Marketing Awards jury members in April. The discussion and debate in the room was passionate and lively, as jury members sought to determine what key cultural insights had been used in the creation of this work, and how the nominees had executed on these ideas.

In Canada’s multicultural marketing industry, it takes much more than a translation of pre-existing work to win a medal — your idea has to be unique, but also take into account particular cultural nuances while still being clear and concise.

We were lucky to have eight talented individuals join us from the multicultural marketing space to take part in this ongoing discussion:

2016 Multicultural Marketing Jury

  • CHAIR: Keka DasGupta, DDB Public Relations
  • Roxanne Tsui, Sensu Communications
  • Ambereen Jahangir, DV8
  • Abhijeet Dutta Ray, Barrett and Welsh
  • Irene Ho, Maple Diversity Communications
  • Sharifa Khan, Balmoral Multicultural Marketing
  • Terrence Ho, Koo Creative, a division of Cossette
  • Corban Hu, Caneast Commuications

In case you missed it, we published our first round of 2016 Marketing Awards shortlisted entries this week. Be sure to have a read, and also make sure you get your tickets to the 2016 Marketing Awards Gala – we’re looking forward to seeing you at The Carlu in Toronto June 2!
