Judging for the 2010 Marketing Awards is just weeks away and the jury is falling into place.

Co-chairs Sean Barlow, group creative head at Leo Burnett, and Nicolas Dion, co-creative director at Montreal-based LG2, are still confirming their international representatives, but a stellar cast of Canadian creative experts is now confirmed.

“After such a tough year, we wanted a jury that knows the pressure for ads and campaigns to be extremely effective and not just breakthrough for breakthrough sake,” said Barlow.

“All of these people understand the pressure of having a great idea that pushes a client’s comfort level about where the brand has traditionally lived in the headspace of consumers–that is the kind of work we want to recognize at the 2010 Marketing Awards,” said Dion.

“Though at the end of the day we also wanted a jury that felt comfortable sharing with each other whether they have an inny or an outty,” added Barlow.

“Every year the Marketing Awards gets some of the best and brightest thinkers in the country, and this is no exception,” said Christopher Loudon, Marketing‘s publisher and editor-in-chief. “We were thrilled to get Sean and Nicolas as co-chairs and we’re equally thrilled with the jury they’ve put together.”
