The countdown to Canada’s historic and most coveted awards program, the Marketing Awards, begins now.

The big night is just over four months away, but today Marketing formally starts the ball rolling with the announcement of the judging co-chairs: Joseph Bonnici, creative director of Bensimon Byrne, and Dean Lee, creative director of DDB Vancouver.

“The Marketing Awards is the Canadian show that really puts you on the map if you’re a young creative in the industry,” said Bonnici. “And if you’re a seasoned veteran, winning a gold never loses its cache.”

“We’re thrilled to have Dean and Joseph as this year’s chairs,” said Marketing publisher, Lucy Collin. “Both are successful, brilliant creatives, but both are also known throughout the industry for being great people to work with. We believe that is the perfect combination for a successful judging process.”

The pair are finalizing their review of the Marketing Awards categories from 2012 and putting together a list of judges to join their jury.

The call for entries will go in late January with the full jury announced soon after.
