Profit has released its annual Profit 200 list of Canadian companies in “hypergrowth” mode, tracking outstanding five-year revenue growth trends among up-and-coming firms. A number of marketing and media firms have made the grade.

While much of the profit in the marketing sector flows around the multinational set of agencies and clients, Profit‘s list examines the homegrown businesses that have built sustainable, reliable businesses in a variety of sectors. It names 27 firms in the marketing field as either service or software providers (though our listing below casts a wider net).

“This super-elite group didn’t achieve their extraordinary top-line growth at great expense to the bottom line,” the magazine said. “An overwhelming 87% were profitable in their most recent fiscal year. And they made a vital contribution to the country by creating 14,943 jobs from 2006 to 2011.”

The full list is available at Profitguide.com, but here is the list Marketing feels is relevant to its readers, listed by their Profit 200 ranking, company name and revenue growth percentage.

(NOTE: Instead of just listing pure-play marketing or media firms, Marketing has has highlighted a wide variety of third-party vendors that marketing executives may deal with. These include call centre and customer service firms, app developers, voice-over talent companies, trade show booth designers and others.)
