Brett McIntosh is the new vice-president, managing partner at Publicis Vancouver.

McIntosh, previously accounts director at the Toronto office, is replacing George Crookshank who is joining Rare Earth, a real estate and sales marketing company in Vancouver.

Crookshank and Bill Downie, VP, creative director at Publicis, have been partners for the last eight years—first at their own agency, Drum and then when Saatchi & Saatchi took over. They stayed together when the agency changed hands again last March, moving to Publicis.

Downie says he was originally determined to find someone from Vancouver to replace Crookshank. “I didn’t want that hardcore Toronto mentality in a small Vancouver shop, because it’s a different way of doing business, and granted Publicis isn’t cut from that cloth, but I went to Toronto with a closed mind,’ he says. “I came back thinking (Brett) is great and he’ll be a great fit for the office.”

McIntosh started with Publicis as an account supervisor in 2000 working on the Microsoft account. Prior to Publicis he worked on the Effem and Clorox Canada assignments at Glavin & Associates.
