Media Profile promotes seven, adds two

Toronto PR agency is on a roll with new business

Hot on the heels of new business wins, independent PR firm Media Profile made a string of promotions and added two new hires.

Caitie Wallman was hired as a senior consultant to work on the Starbucks business, which Media Profile won earlier this year, as well as Cancer Care Ontario. Wallman is a former account manager at Paradigm PR and has experience in food and beverage, CPG and health sciences.

Katherine Sheppard joins as an account coordinator working on Media Profile’s latest win, AutoTrader, among other accounts.

Media Profile’s new business wins, which also include Medic Alert and Metroland, also prompted seven promotions.

Long-time employees Jeri Brown, Scott Taber and Sherline Joe, all former senior consultants, are now account directors. Consultants Ginger Shewell and Stephanie Mustachi move up to senior consultants, and account coordinators Sarah Fournier and Wendy Manton are now consultants.

“This has always been a place that is all about promoting from within,” said president Alison King, who started out at Media Profile as a coordinator in 1989.

“We tend to hire people at a junior level… and because we have a really strong culture, people tend to stay. They see a career path here. They don’t feel like to get to the next level, they have to go to another agency after two years.”

King said having long-time staff enhances the agency’s client service. “We really get to know their business… and [our staff] get very invested in our clients.”
