Metropolitan Hotels, which bills itself as “a collection of independent Canadian hotels,” has awarded its PR business to DDB Public Relations after a review.

Three agencies were shortlisted in the search, according to a release. “We felt a strong connection to the team at DDB PR and their creative ideas captured the essence of our unique offering,” said Tamara Stefek, corporate manager of public relations at the hotel company. “Moreover, with their insightful, local knowledge of the Vancouver market, and expertise working with luxury, travel, tourism and hospitality brands, we felt DDB PR was the best agency to partner with.”

Martine Levy, managing director at DDB Public Relations, said the agency’s job is to build momentum, drive differentiation and, ultimately, get more travelers through the door.

The agency’s DDB Chic unit, which focuses on luxury brands, has begun a program to target niche media to keep Metropolitan “top-of-mind as a preeminent luxury property in the western market.”
