Mirum Canada goes on a hiring spree after account wins
Mirum Canada is boosting its head count to help tackle a growing client list, including a recent win to work for global humanitarian organization UNICEF.
Mirum Canada was chosen to be UNICEF’s global partner for the design and development of its entire digital ecosystem after a competitive review.
Mark Goodman, Canadian CEO of Mirum, says the agency plans to announce two more major accounts in the coming weeks. He wouldn’t name the accounts, only that they are “significant brand names with ongoing mandates.”
The company has promoted three people internally and hired 14 more to handle the new work.
It promoted senior writers Maxinne Abuyuan and Scott Gray and senior art director Alex Korobova to the roles of associate creative director. The agency also hired Sophie Henry, who spent 10 years working for brands in the Silicon Valley region, to the position of associate user experience director and Jesse Badwal, formerly of Carlton Group, to the role of associate technology director. Other hires were for positions such as developers, writers, project and account managers.
Goodman says the agency still has about four more openings on its team of about 100 people across offices in Toronto and Montreal. He says the staff has grown by about 20% over the past four months.
“This continues to be a big year for the Canadian operation of Mirum,” Goodman says.
He says the UNICEF win is a “big deal,” especially since it’s the organization’s global account, based in New York.
“From a business perspective it’s very exciting and challenging,” he says. “As a team, to be able to work on something that is profound and for an organization that does so much good for the world is also exciting.”
The agency is also seeing growth with its existing clients, Goodman says. Some of those current clients include TD Bank, Dairy Farmers of Canada, Pfizer, Coppertone and the Montreal Canadiens.
Mirum, formerly Twist Image, is part of a global network that includes 46 offices in 20 countries. It’s part of the WPP Network.
