DraftFCB Canada announced Wednesday it has been selected by independent Canadian film distributor Mongrel Media as its agency of record for marketing and media buying.

Following a formal review, DraftFCB won the business in early December, said Stuart Pollock, lead of the entertainment practice at the agency. He did not disclose which other agencies were involved or how many made the short list.

The agency’s’s first creative work for Mongrel will appear in early 2014.

Established in 1994, Mongrel Media is the exclusive Canadian theatrical distributor for Sony Pictures Classics. In Quebec, it’s represented by Métropole Films Distribution.
