Monica Ruffo has stepped down as CEO of Lowe Roche after three and a half years running the agency.
The agency has not yet released details about the reason for Ruffo’s departure or who will succeed her.
Michael Wall, CEO of Lowe and Partners, the holding company that owns Lowe Roche, offered the following statement: “After three years of service, Monica Ruffo will be leaving Lowe Roche. Monica is a great talent who helped serve the needs of our clients. We wish her all the best as she embarks on her next chapter. A succession plan will be announced soon. Until then, the experienced Lowe Roche management team is overseeing the agency.”
Ruffo became CEO of Lowe Roche in 2011, when founder Geoffrey Roche stepped down.
At the time Ruffo was at the head of Amuse, a boutique Montreal agency she founded in 2008. Lowe and Partners acquired Amuse to bring her on board. The agency continued to operate at arms-length of Lowe Roche, with Ruffo acting as CEO of both.
Under her leadership, Lowe Roche produced such memorable campaigns as the Missing Kids Stamps microsite for the Missing Children’s Network, and the street wax stunt for Fuzz Wax Bar at Toronto Pride.
Before founding Amuse, Ruffo worked for eight years with the Cossette family of agencies, rising to EVP chief strategy officer of Cossette Group.
