Time to check in on Marketing‘s Movember growth.

“I wish my upper lip would have taken a nod from what was once a plentiful beard,” said Russ Martin, now a smooth-cheeked writer, pictured at the right.

Martin’s apparent despondence may have been caused, in part, when his publisher asked earlier in the week if he had already given up growing a moustache. He hadn’t.

Jeromy Lloyd, scruffy online editor, left, has relatively dark facial hair that makes his paltry growth look fuller than it might otherwise. “It’s starting to catch on my sweaters and the odd long hairs of passersby,” he said.

Lloyd also reports still being “startled” when he catches his beardless reflection. “I look way more like my dad now.”

Both Lloyd and Martin are members of Team Stachetag, which includes seven other Rogers Media staff members. The team is pleased by its 7268th-place national ranking, but obviously hopes to do better over the coming weeks.

You can track the duo’s ‘stache status by comparing this week’s terrifying close-up photos to last week’s shots.
