Fernandes out at Zoom Media. Harmer returns to Blast Radius.

A recap of who’s headed where in Canadian marketing and communications.

JOANNE ACRI will join TC Media as its new digital marketing director on July 16. Her responsibilities will include developing and executing digital marketing plans for different business groups within the company. Acri was most recently a senior manager, marketing at Yahoo Canada.

After a three-year break from the industry, STEVE HARMER returned to Blast Radius as general manager of its Toronto office. Harmer worked with the agency from 1999 to 2009, alternating between its Vancouver and Toronto offices with a brief stint in New York.

CATHY FERNANDES is no longer president and chief operating officer of Zoom Media Canada, having been let go after less than a year with the Montreal-based digital out-of-home company. Zoom Media’s chief executive officer, François de Gaspé Beaubien, will oversee the company’s Canadian operations on a day-to-day basis, traveling between the Toronto and Montreal offices.

GAVIN DAVIDSON joined CASACOM’s Toronto team as director, corporate communications. Prior to joining CASACOM, Davidson had started his own firm advising clients in the financial services, mining, renewable resources and lifestyle sectors. He was also vice-president, communications at Ho Tram Project Company in Saigon.

Media City added ADAM WEISFELD as a senior account executive to its Toronto sales team. Weisfeld spent the last 15 years as a senior account director with Zoom Media.

AYA MCMILLAN joined Glam Media Canada as editorial director, responsible for strategic direction of Glam Canada’s content across such sites as Divine.ca, OhBabyMagazine.com and MamanPourLaVie.com. McMillan was most recently senior editor at Flare.com. She also served as style editor at Weddingbells magazine in the U.S. and WeddingChannel.com.

Veritas Communications hired MARTHA MCKIMM as its executive vice-president. In her 20-year career, McKimm has worked clients as Procter & Gamble, TD Bank, Joe Fresh, Loblaw, Tim Hortons, Indigo Books & Music, The Home Depot Canada, Williams-Sonoma and Tiffany & Co.

Precision promoted TREVOR BROWNE from senior graphic designer to the position of art director after two years with the agency. DAVID BELLIVEAU recently joined Precision, filling the role Browne left vacant.

SHARI WALCZAK joined Zulu Alpha Kilo as a strategic planning director. She was most recently an experience planning director at John St. where she worked with such clients as Tetley, ING Direct, Kraft Foods, AstraZeneca, Zellers, Maple Leaf Foods and WWF. Walczak was also a senior strategic planner at Cossette.
