Blammo welcomes new partners. MacLaren MRM has a new president.

A recap of who’s headed where in Canadian marketing and communications.

LAURIE DILLION-SCHALK joined DraftFCB Toronto as planning director, digital – a newly created position within the agency. Dillon-Schalk was formerly director of digital strategy and innovation at JWT Canada. Before that she worked with IBM, WestJet and Great Gulf homes in various digital marketing roles.

After two years with MacLaren MRM, LOUISE CLEMENTS is now the agency’s president. She started with MacLaren McCann as senior vice-president, social media and digital innovation, where she was responsible for growing the agency’s social practice. She has also held positions with Facebook, Rogers Media, the former Bell Globemedia and AOL.

Standard Life Assurance Company of Canada promoted MICHEL FORTIN to the newly created position of senior vice-president, marketing and customer solutions. He started with the company in 1987 and was made a marketing VP overseeing retail products in 2005. In his new role, Fortin will oversee the development and implementation of the company’s whole suite of products and services, pricing and marketing communications from its Montreal office.

LEZLIE GROSSMAN is returning to Capital C as senior vice-president and general manager in September. Grossman was with Capital C as managing director until 2009 when she joined BBDO. Most recently she was SVP and managing director of BBDO/Organic BBDO.

Blast Radius appointed STEVE DI LORENZO senior creative director of its Toronto office to oversee creative duties for the BMW, Nike Canada, JC Penny and Novartis. Di Lorenzo was most recently creative director on Nissan, Scotiabank and Google at Capital C. He is also the co-founder of art and technology lab Pixel.

Meanwhile, DAVID JONES joined the Blast team as vice-president of social strategy, leaving Proximity Canada where he held the same title for just over one year. Prior to Proximity, Jones held positions both as digital communications vice-president at Hill & Knowlton Canada and senior vice-president of Fleishman-Hillard Canada.

Blammo Worldwide has two new partners: CHRISTINE MCNAB and RITCHIE EMSLIE. The two join the Toronto agency as managing director and chief strategic officer, respectively. McNab was most recently at DraftfCB, and Emslie was a consultant for Zulu Alpha Kilo.

PATRICK GLADNEY joined High Road Communications as SVP channel strategy. He was most recently with Social Media Group as the group head, director of research and insights working with such brands as RBC, KPMG, 3M and Mobilicity.  He has also held positions at Northstar Research Partners, Ogilvy & Mather and Taxi.
