Engine Digital adds five to its team. Di Paola joins Critical Mass.

A recap of who’s headed where in Canadian marketing and communications.

MATT DI PAOLA joined Critical Mass as senior vice-president, general manager of its Toronto office. He spent the last year as MediaCom’s chief strategy and innovation officer and prior to that was senior vice-president, managing director at Proximity Canada. Di Paola has also held positions at Tribal DDB, Leo Burnett and Harbinger.

North Coast Media, an online ad network that specializes in social media, display, video and mobile ads, hired DAVE PAUK as digital sales manager. Pauk was most recently a national account manager at CBC/Radio-Canada.

TALYA PRYCHODKO joined Smak Media & Promotions in Toronto as director of strategy and business development. Prychodko was most recently with Young and Rubican where she lead a team of five agencies on the Royal Canadian Mint Vancouver 2010 Olympic program. She has also  held positions at TBWA\Toronto and TBWA\Paris.

GameTV appointed three executives as part of the specialty channel’s relaunch. NANCI STERN is managing director sales, responsible for all sales strategy and relationship building with the media buying community, ANA RODEIGUES is director programming responsible for all program acquisitions and GARY SAPPLETON is senior director of marketing responsible for building awareness of the channel.

SUSAN KIM-KIRKLAND was promoted to CEO of JWT Canada. She spent the last eight years as executive vice-president and managing director at the Toronto-based agency. Kim-Kirkland replaces Tony Pigott who is taking on a global role as CEO of JWT Ethos, the agency’s social change and corporate social responsibility business he started 10 years ago.

Kingstar Direct promoted VANESSA HALTRECHT from vice-president of production to vice-president and general manager to lead expansion of services and facilities including the launch of an interactive direct-to-web TV studio. She will also be responsible for integrating the company’s other business units including its direct response media buying agency, Kingstar Media,  to offer clients a full range of services.

Eyelight Creative Marketing Services in Kitchener, Ont. named JODY YUNGBLUT general manager. Yungblut has spent the last six years with the agency as its senior strategic planner and group account director. He has also held positions at BBDO Canada, MacLaren McCann and Quadrant Marketing working on accounts such as P&G, Nestlé Canada, Sony of Canada, Bacardi Canada and Motorola.

Engine Digital added five new members to its team. DEAN ELISSAT joined as VP client engagement, JAMES RICHARDSON as VP operations, RYAN OPINA as director of user experience, CHRISTINE POH as user experience strategist and ANDREA MEAD as director of production.
