Walton gets promoted. Yield adds three members to its team.

SHELLEY MIDDLEBROOK has joined News Canada as executive vice-president of business development. Middlebrook was most recently vice-president of integrated sales at Postmedia Network and previously held senior roles at the Globe and Mail and Brunico Communications.

Media Experts promoted CHRISTOPHER WALTON from senior broadcast buyer to supervisor, advanced television solutions, a new role within the agency. Walton has been with the agency for nearly a year-and-a-half. Prior to joining Media Experts, he was a senior associate, trading for Mindshare. (Walton also landed on Marketing’s 30 Under 30 list earlier this year.)

Following a series of account wins, Yield added three new members to its team. JEFF ROBINS joined the Toronto agency as a digital strategist and THOMAS GAYLOR joined as an account manager and brand strategist. And after an internship with Rosetta, JAYDE WOODRUFF joined the agency to work on the Porsche, Hello Health and Mud Heroes accounts.

LYNN FLETCHER joined MacLaren McCann Canada as senior vice-president, director of client integrated strategy to oversee strategic planning. Fletcher was most recently chief strategy officer with BBDO. She has also held senior strategic planning positions at Vickers and Benson, as well as Ogilvy UK and New York.

Sequentia Environics appointed LEONA HOBBS as head of agency services, responsible for strategic direction, service innovation and recruitment. Previously, Hobbs was vice-president and partner at Social Media Group.

SHAWNA ROSSI joined Energi PR as vice-president and consumer practice group leader to oversee teams in the Toronto and Montreal office. Throughout her career, Rossi has held a number of senior-level positions at companies such as Air Miles Reward Program and Hudson’s Bay Company. And on the agency side, she served as vice-president, public relations with Young & Rubicam Brands.

Apex PR added one new member to its team and promoted five of its own. LAUREN BASWICK and JENNIFER STEIN were promoted to account directors. SONIA PRASHAR was promoted to the new role of publicity and marketing manager, while CATHERINE MITCHELL and KYLEE BERENCSI were made consultants. Meanwhile, ALICIA COX THOMSON joined the firm as a digital consultant.

TSN appointed NATHALIE COOK vice-president of integrated marketing and partnerships, and named MARK SILVER senior director, digital. Both Cook and Silver worked for Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium prior to joining TSN. Cook served as vice-president, marketing and partnerships, while Silver oversaw digital coverage across a number of media platforms.
