A recap of who’s headed where in Canadian marketing and communications.

Venture has a new president. Cossette has a new digital creative director.

JENNIFER LIGHTBODY was named president of Venture Communications. She will manage the agency’s Calgary and Toronto offices. Lightbody was most recently with Possible, a global digital agency headquartered out of Seattle, WA, where she oversaw business operations for 1,500 people across 32 locations.

STACEY GRANT-THOMPSON joined OANDA Worldwide as chief marketing officer, effective immediately. Grant-Thompson spent the last eight years with Rogers Communications, most recently serving as vice-president and general manager of Chatr. Prior to Rogers, she served as senior vice-president of marketing at ING Direct Canada.

Cossette’s Montreal office hired CAMERON WILSON as its new digital creative director. Wilson most recently led the interactive team at Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide in India where he worked on the Lenovo, IBM and SC Johnson accounts. He has also held positions at Sid Lee and DentsuBos.

TA2 hired CHRISTINE LESLIE as executive producer & director of licensing. Leslie has nearly two decades of experience working on national and international brands, producing and licensing for both long form and commercial production. Leslie was most recently with Silent Joe Inc., and Louder Music before that.

Newad promoted DIDIER LORTIE to the newly created position of creative director and ZACHARIE LAVERTU-RONDEL to art director, both within the Montreal office. Also, MICHAEL CADAMIA was promoted to graphic designer within the agency’s Vancouver office.

Taxi Toronto hired MARK TOMBLIN as its new head of planning. Tomblin arrives at Taxi from Leo Burnett Group in London, where he held dual roles as head of planning and planning lead for Kellogg Europe and Kellogg U.K.

Meanwhile, DAVID JENKINS was named president of Taxi New York. Jenkins replaces Durk Barnhill, who joined Saatchi New York late last year. Rob Guenette, CEO, was reportedly overseeing the New York office in the interim. Jenkins was most recently with KBS+P, and prior to that, held positions at TBWA\Chiat\Day and BBH.
