A recap of who’s headed where in Canadian marketing and communications.

MARIE-HÉLÈNE LAGACÉ joined Weber Shandwick as vice-president to expand the firm’s operations in Montreal and across Canada. Lagacé brings 14 years of experience in consumer communications, public affairs, and issues and reputation management. She spent the last nine years with Molson Coors Canada as national senior director, public relations.

Juice Mobile appointed MARY LEPAGE as director of sales, effective April 15. Lepage brings over nineteen years of media sales, promotions and management experience, and will be responsible for sales strategy, revenue and management of the sales team. Lepage was most recently with Rogers Digital Media.

JANE FLOWER joined Alberta Motor Association as its VP marketing. Flower spent the last year working as a group account director at DDB Canada in Edmonton. Prior to this, Flower ran her own boutique marketing and advertising agency in Calgary for nine years.

GCI Group hired AMY SWANSON as director, public affairs. Swanson has over eight years of stakeholder relations, policy development and political communications experience working in the Ontario government for a number of cabinet ministers. Her most recent position was director of operations for the Minister of Health and Long-term Care and Deputy Premier. The firm also added STACEY DICION and LAURA MAIZE as account coordinators.

ANDREW AKMAN was appointed to the newly created position of chief operating officer of Cineflix Media in Toronto. Akman is responsible for overseeing the company’s corporate operations, information technology, post-production and acquisitions.

Hill+Knowlton Strategies added two new members to its Toronto team. SIMONE GERVAIS and JULIENNE SPENCE joined as assistant consultant and account director, respectively. Gervais was most recently a communications intern for the Toronto International Film Festival.  Spence spent the last two and a half years as a senior communications manager for the Greenbelt Fund.
