After 27 years at the helm of Grey Vancouver, president and CEO TIM JOHNSON retired. NEIL MCPHEDRAN and MARIA KENNEDY will lead the agency as general manager, and managing director, national design director, respectively.
MacLaren McCann promoted TAMARA DAWSON to the role of VP, media director for MacLaren M2 Universal in Calgary. Dawson will lead the media group in western Canada. She has held a number of senior roles since joining MacLaren McCann in 2002.
Praxis added two members and promoted four within its Mississauga office. NATALIE PREDDIE and PRISCILLA DIXON joined the firm as account executives. MATT JUNIPER and ANDREA BURMASTER were promoted to account managers and ALEXANDRA SIKLOS and MICHELLE BIGDA were promoted to account directors.
Twist Image added KARLA CONGSON and KELLY SMALL to its Toronto team as executive strategy director and creative director, respectively. Congson was most recently at Y&R Canada, where she was executive vice-president, client leader for Ford Canada. Small was most recently with 6degrees where she worked with clients like Absolut, Colgate, Fererro, Movember and Shoppers Drug Mart.
One Advertising appointed DAVE REWAK to director of strategic planning and ADAM BRAIN to director of digital strategy. Rewak was most recently director of strategy at Capital C and prior to that held positions at Grip and MacLaren Momentum. Brain’s previous stints include Taxi and Taxi 2.
Smak Media & Promotions welcomed NATE HABERMEYER and SCOTT OLSEN to its Toronto headquarters. Habermeyer joined the agency as director of public relations to provide PR and digital counsel to clients, lead Smak’s organizational communications strategy and help expand its business portfolio. Olson joined Smak as an account coordinator. His responsibilities include supporting research and budgeting, planning and reporting.
SUZANNE LACROIX and VALERIE GERVAIS were appointed vice-president, general manager, and vice-president, client solutions, respectively, within Newad’s experiential division.
Hill+Knowlton Strategies promoted AXELLE D’ANGLEMONT to consultant within the PR firm’s Vancouver office. She has been with H+K for two years.
Vancouver’s Western Media Group appointed CHELSEA YOUNG to the position of marketing coordinator. Young is a recent graduate of the marketing management program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
