Former Montreal Canadiens vice-president of marketing RAY LALONDE is the new president and chief executive officer of the Montreal Alouettes. He replaces Larry Smith, who stepped down in November to get into politics. Lalonde was let go by the Canadiens in January.

Hill & Knowlton Canada appointed DANIEL GOODWIN as vice-president of the firm’s public affairs practice in Ottawa. Goodwin, who was most recently with Irving Oil and Fort Reliance, will provide senior counsel to clients, particularly in the energy and environment sectors.

Environics Communications added three new account coordinators to its Toronto office. DOMENIC GRATTA joins the corporate team, AMANDA FEARON joins the technology practice, while JULIA DYCK joins the firm’s health team.

After 17 years, BERNARD HELLEN left Traffic Marketing & Design to join Cascades Fine Paper Group as its new business development manger. Hellen is also chair of the Sustainability Committee of the Association of Registered Graphic Designers of Ontario.

Crispin Porter + Bogusky Canada hired DARREN RICHARDSON as creative technology director of its Toronto office. Richardson comes to CP+B from 180 Amsterdam, where he was executive creative technology director working on Adidas and DHL.

Vancouver-based agency St. Bernadine Mission Communications hired LISA BLACKBURN as its new production artist. Blackburn spent the last three years working at Taxi Vancouver as a Mac artist.

CBC has made changes to its senior television team, effective April 4. CHRISTINE WILSON was promoted to executive director, content planning; JULIE BRISTOW was promoted to executive director, studio and unscripted programming, and PHYLLIS PLATT was promoted to interim executive director, commissioned and scripted programming. All three will report to Kirstine Stewart, executive vice-president of CBC English Services.

JEFF DYCK joins Zoom Media’s Toronto office as sales director after eight years with Canwest Media (now Shaw). Over his 20-year career, Dyck has held positions at WIC Television, Baton Broadcasting and CTV.

The Board of the National Advertising Benevolent Society (NABS) appointed marketing communications executive JIM WARRINGTON as its executive director, effective April 1. Warrington was most recently president/chief strategist of Fantail Communications.
