Former Red Bull Canada president JIM BAILEY joined Sid Lee in April and will manage the agency’s new office in Austin, Texas. During his career, Bailey has worked with Reebok and two Sid Lee client companies: Adidas and Red Bull.

Dentsu Canada president and CEO BOB SHROPSHIRE will oversee the agency’s new office in Sydney, Australia, which officially opens within the next two weeks. Canadian EMMA HANCOCK will oversee day-to-day operations at Dentsu’s Sydney office. The agency will launch with Toyota Australia as its client.

ANDREW BAILEY, the current president of Proximity Canada, was named chairman of Proximity North America to help develop the network’s presence south of the border. He will be based in New York. Bailey joined Proximity Canada in 2005 as vice-president of interactive and was appointed president in 2007.

ALON MARCOVICI joins The Globe and Mail as vice-president, marketing and audience intelligence, on June 20. Marcovici, who was most recently executive vice-president, digital media at CTV, will oversee brand and consumer marketing and sponsorships in the newly created role.

ANDY QUERIN joined Toronto’s KB Media as president and chief operating officer. He replaces former KB Media president David Brisson, who is now the agency’s CEO. Querin was president and chief operating officer at Zoom for four years before leaving in December.

GlassBox Television appointed former Shaw Media marketing executive JENNIFER MASON to marketing and communications director. Mason will oversee a four-person marketing and communications team at GlassBox.

Mountain Equipment Co-op
(MEC) hired NORM NORRIS to oversee communications and marketing. Norris comes to MEC from Apple where he most recently held a five-year senior marketing post.

Mundo Media appointed MARC PORCELLI, general manager, to oversee LivingDeal.com. Prior to Mundo, Porcelli was a senior executive in online advertising at The Epic Media Group and Singlesnet.com.

Microsoft Advertising added account executives PAMELA TURNER and TAMARA LEE to its team and promoted SIMON LEBLANC to account executive.

Newad has two new provincial sales managers. KIM STEINER, who’s handled sales for Corus, Rogers and Rawlco Radio, joins as manager, sales for Alberta while DAVID VANCE is promoted to sales manager of indoor advertising for Ontario.
