DOUG BROWN is the new owner and president of Copeland Communications, a Victoria-based agency he joined as managing director in 2008. Prior to Copeland, Brown held creative director positions with RMG Connect, MacLaren McCann Vancouver and Lowe Lintas Singapore.
TBWA\Toronto appointed JULIA FOSTER as chief marketing officer to shape client services to oversee new business development and raise awareness of the tools and disciplines within the agency. This marks Foster’s return to the agency’s Toronto office, which she left in 2005 to join TBWA\Dubai as director of brand leadership.
Ideon Media hired JOCELYN BLACK as an account manager. Black was previously an account executive at Suite 66 and has also worked at Mediacom and Media Dimensions.
Hill & Knowlton’s Toronto office added two new members to its team. TERRA REBICK joins the corporate communications team as vice-president and general counsel, while WHITNEY BINNS joins the health and pharmaceuticals team as an account director.
Porter Novelli Canada hired MELISSA ARNOLD as a senior consultant within its consumer practice. Arnold was most recently with Strategic Objectives.
STEPHANIE FITCH joined Energi PR’s healthcare practice as an account executive to focus on strategic planning, program management and execution, research, writing, media relations, promotional campaigns and digital communications. Fitch was previously with Fleishman Hillard, where she worked in the cardiovascular, respiratory and digestive disease-areas for AstraZeneca, Boehringer Ingelheim, Pfizer, Bayer and Abbott Laboratories.
JOHN CLINTON was named CEO at Edelman Canada. Clinton was most recently with Transcontinental Media as SVP of digital solutions and new media, and was previously president and CEO of Grey Canada. His appointment becomes official on Aug. 17.
