A recap of who’s headed where in Canadian marketing and communications.

PAUL LITTLE joins Sid Lee in Montreal as co-creative director and senior copywriter, July 11. Little was CD at the agency formerly known as TBWA\Vancouver (now Station X Communications), up until April. Little will be working on the Dell business out of the agency’s Toronto office.

Rethink Communications promoted CHRIS BOOTH to co-creative director of its Toronto office, a role he’ll share with Dre Labre. Booth joined the agency last year as a copywriter.

Rogers Media named KEN WHYTE president of Rogers publishing. Whyte is replacing Brian Segal, who is retiring after 17 years with the company. Whyte started with the company as publisher and editor-in-chief of Maclean’s in 2005, and was named vice-president of Rogers Consumer Publishing in August 2010. In January, he was handed responsibility for the company’s French-language titles in conjunction with his appointment as EVP of consumer publishing. His new role starts Sept. 1.

MELISSA SMICH joined Radar DDB Toronto as a senior cultivator, working with clients like Johnson & Johnson, Wind Mobile and Penningtons. Prior to Radar DDB, Smich worked at Strategic Objectives on the Trius Wines, Dentyne, Hyundai, Kraft and Cadbury accounts.

Yahoo Canada promoted PAULA PRESLEY from director of sales to executive director of sales. Presley was recently elected to the Board of Directors at the Interactive Advertising Bureau of Canada (IAB Canada). Prior to joining Yahoo, Presley was director of national sales at CBC Television.

Vibrant Ideation and Marketing appointed PAUL ROSA senior brand experience manager. Rosa has held senior positions at companies such as Dairy Farmers of Canada, Abbott Nutrition, Wrigley Canada and Breyers.

Hill & Knowlton Canada hired two and promoted two of its own. CORTNEY ANDERSON joins the firm’s technology team in Toronto as an account director, while SCOTT BARBEAU joins as vice-president, health and pharmaceuticals. KARA EUALE was promoted to consultant within the health and pharmaceuticals team, and JOSH CHRISTENSEN was promoted to account director, public affairs in the firm’s Victoria office.

Environics Communications added SANDRA DE CARVALHO and CHRISTINE TESTA to its consumer marketing team in Toronto. During her career, De Carvalho has launched campaigns for brands such as General Mills and Travelocity. Testa worked at Compass Creative Media where she supported marketing and communications activities including newsletter development and event coordination.
