A recap of who’s headed where in Canadian marketing and communications.

GEOFFREY ROCHE is set to leave Lowe Roche, the agency he started 20 years ago, to focus on a web company he started with his son called Poolhouse Enterprises that produces community-based online and mobile applications for children, shoes and pets. Replacing Roche is MONICA RUFFO founder of Montreal boutique agency Amuse.

JASON LONSDALE left his position as international planning director at Saatchi & Saatchi London and joined Taxi Toronto as its new head of planning. Lonsdale also worked at RKCR/Y&R and Leo Burnett in London as well as Colenso BBDO in New Zealand. He has led planning and strategy for brands such as Land Rover, LG, McDonald’s and Air New Zealand.

Environics Communications added consultants VANESSA CICCONE and SEBASTIAN GATICA to its Toronto team. Ciccone joins from Brookline Public Relations where she supported media relations for the Global Petroleum Show during the Gulf of Mexico oil spill crisis. Gatica joins from Cossette’s Optimum PR where he supported media relations, events and thought leadership programs clients, including Proctor & Gamble, Future Shop and the Aboriginal People’s Television Network.

NICOLE GRANT joins North Strategic as account manager after five years with Toyota Canada as a public relations consultant and one year as a marketing consultant. During her tenure, Grant helped manage communications during the company’s global recall crisis and subsequent brand rebuilding efforts.

Ariad Custom Communications promoted three of its own to senior account directors. Now, LANA CHEN oversees the team responsible for the Telus account, SOFIA COSTA heads up the CPG team and NADIA KEUNG leads Ariad’s Healthcare team.
