A recap of who’s headed where in Canadian marketing and communications.

JULIE PETCH joined TraffikGroup as vice-president of accounts. In the newly created role, Petch will oversee all day-to-day client contact, allowing founder and president Mark Ferrier to focus on strategy and planning. Petch recently left experiential and engagement shop JetStar where she served as president for nearly two years.

Publicis Montréal appointed MARC GAGNIER as vice-president and general manager. Gagnier was formerly VP of strategy and integration at Palm+Havas, where he was responsible for Volkswagen Group’s Canadian marketing efforts. He starts his new role July 25.

ANGELA COURTIN joined Aegis Media in the newly created position of EVP, content and convergence. Courtin was most recently co-head of integrated marketing at MTV, and prior to that worked as head of marketing entertainment and content at MySpace.

MICHELE PAUCHUK was appointed president of MEC Canada, replacing Bruce Neve who left the media agency in April to head up Starcom MediaVest Group Canada. Pauchuk was most recently executive vice-president and managing director at Initiative. She has also held senior positions at MediaCom and DDB Needham.

LAUREN RICHARDS left Media Experts after only eight months as the agency’s CEO. No reason was given for her departure. An official statement released by the agency read, “We wish Lauren only health, happiness and success in her future endeavours.” Richards joined Media Experts in November after four years with Starcom MediaVest Group Canada.

Toronto-based Arc Productions hired STEPHANIE DENTON as senior vice-president of sales and business development for its Los Angles office. Denton has held positions at sales positions at Bold Films, Lionsgate, Initial Entertainment Group and Lakeshore International.

ROY GONSALVES joined AskingCanadians as director of sales to develop new tools and expand the firm’s products and data services. Throughout his career Gonsalves has worked at Ipsos ASI and Research Now.

Brookline Public Relations has promoted one and added two to its team. PAULA WORTHINGTON joined the Calgary-based agency in 2009 as senior account executive and was recently promoted to account director. Jessica Moran and ALISHA SAMNANI join as senior account executive and account specialist, respectively.
