A recap of who’s headed where in Canadian marketing and communications.

CATHY COLLIER is OMD Canada’s new CEO. She replaces Lorraine Hughes, who retired on July 15. Collier was most recently managing director of communication planning at Crispin Porter + Bogusky Canada. She also spent 18 years at Cossette Media in Toronto.

STEPHEN BENNETT joins Taxi Canada as digital creative director on the Telus account. Bennett spent the last year at Juniper Park as creative director, digital, and has also worked at Grip Limited and Henderson Bas.

MICHAEL RAS joins GCI Group’s public affairs team as vice-president from the Ivey Centre for Health Innovation and Leadership, where he served as director of development and stakeholder relations. Over his 14-year career, Ras has worked with a variety of clients across the technology industry, public-private partnerships, energy and industrial sectors.

LILI SHALEV SHAWN joins Women’s College Hospital as chief of communications and marketing. Shalev Shawn was most recently VP management director at JWT and before that co-founded U8TV: The Lofters. She also sits on the board for Donation Project, a non-profit dedicated to increasing awareness around organ and tissue donation.

BARRY PATTERSON joins Emily Carr University of Art and Design as executive director, communications, effective Aug. 29. Patterson recently led the rebranding and all marketing, communications and outreach strategies for the Canadian Film Centre in Toronto. He has also held senior-level positions at CBC, Astral Media and Famous Players.

Olive Media added 10 new members to its team and promoted five of its own. New hires: LILY BERGERON, business development specialist; NELSON CHENG, business analyst; MARTINE ENGLISH, marketing specialist; JANICE GALLEN, client services account coordinator; JENNIFER JOYCE, ad ops specialist; NATASHA KULIS, online business development specialist; MARLA NATOLI, business development specialist; SEAN NEILSON, account executive; SUZIE PINHEIRO, trafficker of ad operations; and KEVIN WAUD, strategic account executive. Promotions: NINA AHMADI and JAMIE BRADELY, team lead publisher services; TRACI ISENBERG,  publisher ad ops specialist; BROMLEY SWITZER, marketing specialist; and KIERSTEN TRAFFORD, sales manager.
