A recap of who’s headed where in Canadian marketing and communications.
Transat Tours Canada appointed JOE ADAMO to the newly created position of senior director, marketing to oversee all Canadian marketing activities for the Air Transat, Transat Holidays and Nolitours brands. Adamo most recently served as vice-president, client services for Marketel.
Proximity Canada added three members to its executive leadership team. Both CHRISTINA HILL and RICKY JACOBS assume the role of vice-president, managing director, while JEFF SANGSTER joins as senior vice-president, technology. Until recently, Hill was general manager at Taxi. Jacobs and Sangster join from Cossette and Publicis Modem, respectively.
After eight years with Walmart Canada, KEVIN GROH joined Optimum Public Relations as vice-president based out of the agency’s Toronto office. Groh’s PR experience includes stints at Environics Communications and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Cundari hired TODD HUMMEL as vice-president, digital to lead the strategic direction and execution of the agency’s digital practice, which includes approximately 15 core developers, a three-person strategy team and a few project managers. Hummel was most recently with Publicis Modem as group digital director.
Other senior appointments at Cundari include WADE MAKARUS as group account director in charge of the Subway, Firkin and Rust-Oleum accounts; LARISA ROCE as senior account director in charge of the Ivey and Northern Ontario Tourism accounts, as well as THERESA FREEL who now supervises accounting and financial operations.
MIKE SAVAGE joined East Coast multi-service agency M5 as senior vice-president of corporate affairs. Savage was most recently a Member of Parliament for the riding of Dartmouth – Cole Harbour. During his business career he served as general manager of S. Cunard & Co., a home and heating retailer in Nova Scotia, and also as vice-president of business development and senior consultant for Ray & Berndtson.
Global online IT hosting provider Peer 1 Hosting appointed STEVE PATTI as chief marketing officer to oversee brand strategy and management, JAY NEWMAN as senior vice-president of sales, JAD JEBARA as senior vice-president of finance and BRENTON BROWN as vice-president of finance.
Finally, DDB Group Canada has tweaked MIKE BAUMAN’S title to reflect the ongoing evolution of his duties. Once chief financial officer, Bauman is now chief operating officer and will work more closely with senior executives on client acquisition and negotiation to maximize profits.
