A recap of who’s headed where in Canadian marketing and communications.

Porsche Cars Canada, Ltd. promoted LAURANCE YAP from manager, public relations to director of marketing in September. Yap is now responsible for all marketing activities in Canada. Yap’s previous role was filled by PATRICK SAINT-PIERRE, who until recently was the public relations manager at Kia Canada.

Tag Idea Revolution added three new members to its team. MICHAEL RENEAU joined as executive director to focus on business strategy and development, LORELEI DERERA joined as account supervisor and DANICA WOLCH joined as account manager.

Kitchener-based branding and design agency Hagon Design hired LESLEY DRAGO as a senior designer. Drago’s previous work experience includes a stint at the University of Waterloo’s graphics department.

PENNY HICKS was promoted from advertising director to publisher of Rogers-owned news magazine Maclean’s. Hicks, who starts her new role Dec. 5, will manage advertising sales and consumer marketing teams. She will also develop editorial strategy with Maclean’s editor, Mark Stevenson.

MARLO MARTIN was appointed director of Toronto-based sales and merchandising company, Brand Momentum Inc. Martin has over 18 years industry experience and has held senior retail, CPG, sales and marketing positions. She was most recently with Loblaw Companies Limited where she was senior director, experiential marketing.
