A recap of who’s headed where in Canadian marketing and communications.

MICHAEL SEATON joined Canada Post as its director of digital marketing and trade for the company’s Digital Delivery Network. He will oversee third party agencies and marketing programs in support of the network. Seaton was most recently the director and head of digital marketing and accessibility consulting at the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB).

Cossette Communications promoted MATT LITZINGER and DAVID DAGA from vice-presidents and creative directors to co-chief creative officers of its Toronto office. The team replace Pete Breton and Dave Douglass, who left Cossette for Lowe Roche in December.

JAMES DUNLOP joined Publicis Toronto as a copywriter to work on the Rogers account. Dunlop spent that last six years with Marshall Fenn Communications as creative director. Prior to this, Dunlop spent two years working as a freelance copywriter for agencies including Taxi, DDB Canada, Cossette and Ogilvy & Mather. Marshell Fenn has launched a search for Dunlop’s successor.

MediaCom Canada promoted MICHAEL NEALE from vice-president and group account director to managing partner, investment. His new responsibilities involve helping the investment group move into offering clients a greater choice of investment options. Neale started at MediaCom 13 years ago as a broadcast supervisor.

ANDREW BULMER joined Active Media Services Canada as senior vice-president and managing director. Bulmer spent three years with Grand & Toy – Office Max where he most recently served as vice-president, strategic customer development. He has also held senior positions at Molson Canada, Molson USA and Red Bull.

CHRISTOS NIKITOPOULOS joined Rogers Media Inc. as vice-president, revenue planning and strategy. Nikitopoulos was vice-president, sports at Shaw Media, and vice-president of programming and revenue planning for Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium.

Toronto event marketing and planning firm Yellow House Media Events hired JENNIFER MILLARD as director, business development. Millard spent the last 12 years with Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment as account director, marketing.

VANESSA MCDONALD joined National Public Relations as vice-president, marketing communications of its Toronto office. Prior to joining National, McDonald helped establish the London and San Francisco offices of Ballou PR, a Paris-based communications firm. She also worked as the associate marketing director and international press manager for consulting firm Capgemini.

Environics Communications added LAURA BALLANTYNE and REBECCA COHEN to its Toronto office as consultant and account coordinator, respectively. Ballantyne recently served as chair of students and mentoring on the CPRS Toronto Board of Directors. Cohen’s previous experience includes stints at C2E Consulting and The Siren Group.
