A recap of who’s headed where in Canadian marketing and communications.

STÉPHANE CHARIER and GENEVIEVE GRENIER have been named directors general of Nolin BBDO. Charier was formerly vice-president and creative director, but will retain his CD duties. Grenier had the title strategic planning director and senior design. ALAIN GIGNAC has left the agency and his roles as president and CEO.

JANE MURRAY joined TBWA\Toronto as creative director from Sid Lee’s Toronto office where she’s been working freelance since August 2011. Murray has also worked at Crispin Porter + Bogusky, Ogilvy and Taxi. She was a Cannes Lions Radio judge in 2010, and has won trophies at the Marketing Awards, Clios and D&AD competitions.

JACKIE KING, H+K Strategies‘ vice president and corporate communications group leader in Ottawa and a company veteran of 14 years, has also been made Canadian lead for the global change and internal communications practice group.

MasterCard Canada hired HEATH APPLEBAUM as director of communications. Applebaum has 15 years PR experience working with companies such as PepsiCo, Cadillac Fairview, Deloitte and RBC Financial Group. He was also owner and principal consultant at Echo Communications.

Halifax agency Extreme Group appointed DYLAN MOGGEY as its new associate creative director. Moggey was most recently at Grey Canada in Toronto, where he also held the associate creative director title. During his career he also worked at Sharpe Blackmore Euro RSCG.

JEFF PLOWMAN opened a Toronto-based agency called The Super Market Inc. Plowman worked at Euro RSGC Toronto from 2007 until September 2011, first in the role of vice-president of client services and strategic planning, then as executive vice-president and chief strategy officer. He has also worked at McCann-Erickson Japan, Saatchi & Saatchi and J. Walter Thompson.

Y&R Toronto appointed four new team members: MARCIA THOMPSON, vice-president, director of project management; DAVID CHANT, director of digital production; ARIEL PAGLISUO, senior designer and NATEE LIKITSUWANKOOL, art director.

YANIK DESCHENES, the former president of the Association des agences de publicité du Québec, joined Sid Lee in Montreal. His mandate is to promote the agency to major brands and handle all internal communications. Deschenes will be collaborating with Marie-Ève Chaumont, the agency’s communications director, on various projects.

Hill+Knowlton Strategies Canada added three new members and promoted one to its office in Ottawa. TOM CREARY, who was a senior associate with Hill+Knowlton Stratégies in Quebec is now vice president and group leader in Ottawa for public affairs. PAUL MOEN, PAUL BENOIT and KIM DORAN join as associates.

LIZA ROSTEK joined The Hive as director of integrated process, a newly created role within the Toronto-based agency. Rostek spent the last 10 years with Cossette as director of convergent project management.

TC Media appointed JOCELYNE MORISSETTE to general manager, multiplatform media development and PIERRE TREMBLAY to general manager, multiplatform media production. Morissette has been with TC Media since 2001, and previously held the positions of general manager and product manager, national consumer sites. Before joining TC Media, Tremblay was the director of QMI.
