After a 45-year career in advertising MARGOT BROWN has retired. Brown has worked at major agencies in Toronto and Vancouver and was most recently vice-president of media at Winnipeg agency McKim Cringan George. Brown says retired life will include travel and golf.
After a year-long sabbatical RICK SMITH, former president of Torre Lazur McCann, is now vice-president, marketing for MediResource, a company that provides health information, decision support tools, and online health technologies.
Ketchum Public Relations Canada added one member to its team and promoted three. ANNEMARIE GERBER joined the agency as managing account supervisor. Gerber was most recently with Rogers Communications where she served as manager, consumer public relations and social media. The firm also promoted LINSEY FLANNERY to vice-president, LAURA JEFFEREY to account supervisor and DEBORAH BOYCE to senior account executive.
WADE MAKARUS joined Zoom Media as national director of media integration from Cundari Group, where he served as group account director for the Ontario Subway Franchisees and Rust-Oleum accounts.
Zulu Alpha Kilo added new creative talent to its Toronto office. Award-winning creative director and writer JON WEBBER joined the ZAK team from Proximity where he spent the last five years working on interactive and creative campaigns for the Canadian Olympic Committee and M&Ms. ZAK also hired DAVID ADAMS as its new design director. His past industry experience includes stints at Karacters Design Group, Soapox and Grip Limited.
