A new Initiative CEO. CP+B layoffs. Rethink’s new partners

Initiative named NICK PAHADE president and CEO North America. In his new role, Pahade is responsible for the network’s US agency as well as overseeing Initiative Canada. He also joins the North America Board of IPG Mediabrands.
Rethink’s managing director CALEB GOODMAN and creative directors CHRIS BOOTH and DRE LABRE became partners in the agency’s Toronto office, while creative directors NICOLAS QUINTAL and ADAM NEILSON were given partner status for the agency’s Vancouver office.
Fuse Marketing Group hired LANE BUIE as vice-president, digital. Over his 14-year career, Buie has worked with such clients as Microsoft, NBC Universal, Bell, Future Shop, Kinross and BMOHarris Bank.
DESIREE LAROCQUE and JENNIFER FOUCARD joined Porter Novelli Canada’s Montreal office as coordinators. The two will develop public relations programs for clients such as P&G, Monster.ca and Timberland.
Cossette Toronto added six new members to its team. CHAD BORLASE joined the agency as digital creative director from Kolody, where he served as creative director officer for less than a year. Other new editions include PETER GARDINER and KENNETH FOTHERGILL (as senior writer and senior art director, respectively), ROBIN SOUKILAY, DUNCAN COLLIS and SEBASTIAN LYMAN.
Crispin Porter + Bogusky (CP+B) laid off 11 staff members from its Toronto office, including creative director DARREN RICHARDSON.
