Postmedia brought on PAULA FESTAS as SVP digital and key accounts and TONY PATEL as VP monetization and programmatic trading. Both new faces come from Pelmorex Media, owner/operator of The Weather Network; Festas was SVP of global ad sales, while Patel was VP of monetization and analytics. Festas has a long history in digital and broadcast ad sales, having worked at Yahoo and CBC, and is an active board member of IAB Canada. Patel meanwhile is an expert in the nascent fields of analytics and programmatic trading, having managed digital inventory for Pelmorex, Yahoo and Mircosoft over the past decade.

Experiential shop Smak hired creative director JONNY CROZIER, who will work with co-founder and president Claire Lamont to lead the agency’s creative practice. Crozier has a diverse background in radio, having been a host on Corus Entertainment and Astral Media stations, and in non-profit work, having been community chair of The Movember Foundation. On the sales side, Smak promoted CLAY DUBÉ to national account director after more than five years with the company, and added a new junior account director, ANASTASIA CHAPMAN, out of the BC Institute of Technology.
