New hires at Naked Creative

Naked Creative added four new staff to its accounts and creative departments. EVAN MCINDLESS and MARSHA DARK joined the sales side, McIndless as account director and Dark as director of business development. Dark spent the last nine years with FCB Canada, rising to director of business development. McIndless was previously an account manager at Brightworks, and before that lead social and online efforts for Chrysler, Canada Post and Rogers at Publicis. On the creative site, Naked brought on BRAEDEN LAVERTY as senior art director and KYLE SHIELDS as art director and designer. For the past two years Laverty has been co-creative director at ShantyTown, and before that held art direction roles at KBS, FCB and Doner Canada. Shields was a designer at Deloitte’s National Creative Studio, and prior to that managed a team at Avid Apparel.

Vancouver multichannel payments startup Payfirma appointed a new CMO, ROBIN JONES. Jones has more than two decades of experience leading marketing efforts on behalf of Vancouver startups and successfully navigating them through IPOs and acquisitions. Her past experience includes head of marketing for QuickMobile, The Active Network, and half a dozen others. Payfirma recently received $13 million in series A funding to continue expanding its debit and credit solutions for online, in-store and mobile payments, bringing it to a total of $26 million in venture backing.

Social change agency Manifest hired DEEPAK MEHMI as creative director. Mehmi came from a creative direction role at SapientNitro, and before that was an information architect at Henderson Bas and Ogilvy & Mather. He’s taught communications courses at York University and University of Guelph. He’s also studying towards a PhD at York; his research focuses on pop culture consumption.

Toronto digital media sales and technology firm Crucial Interactive brought on JIHO KIM as its new senior manager of programmatic and private exchange. Kim has become an expert in programmatic technology and strategy over several years with Xaxis and before that AcuityAds, and has worked on analytics, audience profiling, client education, strategic innovation and new product prototyping. At Crucial he will lead programmatic strategy on Crucial’s private programmatic exchange, where it auctions off online ad inventory to agency trading desks.

Télé-Québec‘s board of directors confirmed the appointment of MARIE-PIER MAILHOT to general manager of the Quebec TV network. Mailhot joined the company from Astral Media in 2014, as sales manager, media creativity and marketing. She was appointed acting general manager a few months later. Now general manager, she will be responsible for the development of all Télé-Québec brand products, together with show producers.

America Standard Brands promoted MICHAEL DEL GUIDICE to director of marketing of the company’s Mississauga-based Canadian division. Del Guidice joined the company in 2014 as a product marketing manager, and before that was marketing director for southern Ontario bathroom vanities company Magick Woods. In his new role, Del Guidice will be responsible for developing marketing strategies to build the presence of brands like American Standard and DXV in the Canadian marketplace.
