On the Move: Hires at MacLaren, Public, Zulu, Punch

A weekly update of who's headed where in Canadian marketing and communications

IMG_9755MacLaren McCann went on a hiring spree, adding seven to its Toronto office. Leading the hires is the agency’s new senior art director ROB TRICKEY, who joined via Grey Canada. The Cannes-winning creative has worked on accounts including P&G, Volvo and Moms Demand Action.

MacLaren also hired art director NICK NOH and copywriter BINOY ZUZARTE, who previously worked as a creative team at OgilvyOne. On the account side, MacLaren hired a new vice-president and group account director, PATRICK O’DONOVAN, who previously worked at The & Partnership and Taxi. The agency’s experiential division, MacLaren Momentum, also beefed up its staff with a new head of production, LAURA BOSHELL, who joined via GMR Marketing; account director SANDRA RENWICK, and account supervisor FRANCESCA NOTO.

Zulu Alpha Kilo named JENN BRETON as its new strategic planning director after freelancing for the agency for three years. Breton has more than two decades of experience at agencies like Crispin Porter & Bogusky and Leo Burnett. Breton has worked with clients in the packaged goods, financial, alcohol, telecom and not-for-profit spaces.

Punch hired EMMA CAULDWELL as an account director to strengthen its travel public relations practice. Cauldwell hails from London, England where she worked at travel PR agency Mango Public Relations on global travel clients including Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and Eden Rock-St. Barths. At Punch Cauldwell will be the daily point of contact for client communication, and will provide creative support and strategic planning.

Evans Hunt added art director TERESA LEUNG to its creative department. Leung previously worked at Trigger, Taxi and MacLaren McCann, and has won awards at Cannes, Applied Arts and ADCC. She will focus on organic client growth at Evans Hunt, where she joins her former creative partner Jordan Finlayson.

Public added nine members to its team. DAVID MORAN joined as head of communications, REVA SETH as PR account director, SHERI HACHEY as group account director, SALLY MCCONNELL as account director, ELISE ONDET, HOLLY THORNTON as PR account executive, COLE BANNING, as an account manager, ALEXANDRA DEMARIA as copywriter and ROBERT PARON as a senior art director.
