On The Move: New talent at Intent, Marblemedia, Eyereturn

Steve Groh

Cossette hired STEVE GROH as VP national brand director in Toronto, where he will chiefly be responsible for the McDonald’s account. Groh comes from Bensimon Byrne, where he led the Scotiabank account; before that he worked for seven ears at BBDO, on major accounts like Mitsubishi, Mercedes-Benz and FedEx.

Marblemedia appointed SEAN CONNOLLY as vice-president of primetime unscripted development, where he will be responsible for all unscripted in-house and partnered production projects. Connolly has worked as an executive at Red Apple Entertainment, Proper Television and his own independent house Gorilla Media, and has contributed to titles like CBC’s Make The Politician Work and Junk Raiders.

Programmatic technology company Eyereturn Marketing brought on a new marketing and brand specialist, SKAI SPOONER, to head up its communications efforts. Spooner was previously marketing manager at Canadian digital media company Ideon Media. Also joining Eyereturn as manager of brand sales is GRAHAM CHEVREAU, who was previously an account manager at Purina, and account executive RENEE KATES, who was previously at AOL, where she was creative advertising manager for premium formats.

Canadian Pacific has a new SVP sales and marketing, TIMOTHY E. MARSH. Marsh brings 25 years of sales experience, most recently with China Ocean Shipping Company (COSCO), where he was EVP North America Trade Division. He will be responsible for developing new business, prioritizing and improving existing business, and identifying new opportunities for aligned products and services.

The Tite Group continued its expansion by promoting JAMIE KING to partner and hiring six new creative and accounts staff. Joning the creative team is JOEL EPPINGHAUS, formerly at Rethink Toronto; social media specialist JACLYN OWEN from OverCat Communications; and two copywriters, KELLY O’NEILL and JOEL CLÉROUX. On the business side, Tite hired account director AHMAD DGHAIM and a new EA/office manager, KATIE EATON. Check out the full story.

BREANNA HUGHES joined Wattpad as product manager after three and a half years at Pivotal Labs. In her new role, she will work on reader acquisition for Wattpad’s creative writing community.

Intent added a new senior designer, LINDSAY PASICHNYK, as well as an account manager, PAZ MISTRY. Pasichnyk joins the Toronto-based cause marketing agency from a graphic design career in Halifax, with a background as a marketing coordinator for Home Hardware. Mistry most recently worked in business development at natural resources firm Integra Technologies, and before that was an account executive at Workopolis.

SapientNitro announced Monday that it had hired MICHAEL MURRAY, formerly chief content officer at Blammo, as its new CD. Prior to Blammo, Murray built a career as a writer and creative director at CP+B and Taxi. Check out the full story.
