KBS+ Toronto appointed MATT HASSELL as its chief creative officer, replacing Dan Pawych, who held the position for five years. Hassell was previously CCO at OgilvyOne in Toronto. In the next few months Hassell will build the agency’s creative team with senior and junior hires.
Liberty Entertainment Group appointed CATHERINE BRIDGMAN as president of Casa Loma, a historical attraction in midtown Toronto. During her 30-year career, Bridgman has held several senior-level positions including director of advertising, magazines at Quebecor, and senior vice-president, marketing ventures at Canwest. She also served as the publisher of Playback magazine.
Purdue Pharma, a research-based pharmaceutical company, has hired DAVID A. PIDDUCK as its vice-president of marketing and health solutions. He arrives from Baxter, where he was vice-president of its medication delivery business in Europe.
DraftFCB hired ALEX GLINKA as its head of technology. Most recently Glinka led Capital C’s technology team on assignments for Nissan Canada and Scotiabank Nuit Blanche. He also worked as a technology consultant with Fuel Advertising and held positions at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences as well as Medworxx.
DEBORAH WILSON joined Toronto Port Authority as vice-president communications and public affairs. She is responsible for planning, developing and implementing communication strategies and public affairs programs to increase awareness of TPA. Wilson spent the last nine years with Astral Media serving as vice-president of communications. She has also held positions at Alliance Atlantis, Look Communications, PricewaterhouseCoopers and American Express.
Free For All Marketing, part of the Environics Family of Companies, added three new members to its experiential marketing team in Toronto: ADI UNDERWOOD, SAMANTHA ALBERT and COURTNEY FORBES.
FIONA ISAACSON joined Delvinia as research and e-democracy consultant to work with CEO Adam Froman on the development and launch of the company’s Voice of e-Democracy initiative and the Centre for e-Democracy. Isaacson was most recently a project manager and research analyst at CorbinPartners Inc. She was also a journalist for 10 years working at daily newspapers including the Guelph Mercury, Grande Prairie Daily Herald Tribune and the Peterborough Examiner.
CAMERON WILLIAMSON has been appointed editor-in-chief at Flare, Rogers Publishing’s fashion magazine. The appointment marks Williamson’s return to Rogers, where he was the editor at Glow from 2009 to 2011, and art director at Chatelaine before that.
Brookline PR hired two new members and promoted two of its own. KRISTEN MCADAM and LEANNA KRUK joined as account specialist and senior account executive, respectively. Meanwhile, ALISHA SAMNANI and SOPHIE PILON were promoted to senior account executive and account executive, respectively.
