HARVEY CARROLL left Grip Limited after five years as president and partner of the Toronto-based agency. Carroll joined Grip in 2008 as the its first-ever president, marking a change in the agency’s founding philosophy in which a group of equal partners eschewed hierarchical titles. Moving forward, Grip’s nine partners will steer the agency.
BRINDA LUCKOO joined Next Issue Canada as executive director, marketing, responsible for leading and driving subscriber growth with a special focus on offline activities, partnership sales and media planning. Luckoo joined Rogers in 2001 and most recently served as executive director of the consumer marketing group at Rogers Publishing.
New Brunswick-based marketing agency Revolution Strategy hired EMERY FULLER as creative director. During his career, Fuller has worked at agencies in Chicago, Amsterdam and most recently Laguna Beach, and worked on leading brands including McDonald’s, Dell and Chevrolet.
VERONICA HERINGER joined Canadian Tire as manager, social media and consumer generated content from Smokebomb Entertainment where she held the transmedia strategist title. Other agency experience includes time at Tribal DDB as manager, community cultivation. Heringer also developed research on digital natives as a graduate researcher at Ryerson University.
The Institute of Communication Agencies (ICA) welcomed DESIREE CREED and FELICIA CHAPHEAU as director of sponsorship and partnerships, and event and sponsorship coordinator, respectively. Creed has more than 10 years media industry experience having worked at Torstar Group and most recently, as national sales manager with Rogers Communications. Chapheau spent the last two years with Heller Productions Inc. as a junior event coordinator. She will report to Creed.
CHRISTIE CUTLER joined GCI Group as director of its healthcare practice. Before joining GCI, Cutler spent 10 years with GlaxoSmithKline Inc., most recently as media and product communications manager. Other positions she held with the company include associate communications manager, internal communications specialist and, sales and marketing internal communications.
Browns Restaurant Group in Vancouver, which owns and operates Browns Socialhouse throughout western Canada and Scotty Browns in the U.S., appointed ANDREA BAXTER as director of marketing. Baxter is the founder of Bratface Marketing and the co-founder of Smart Cookies Money Mentoring.
Kognitive Marketing hired JOE PRODAN on board as interim CFO, and MIRIAM SIDWAY as director of human resources. Prodan, the former CFO for Mobilicity, will provide strategic advice and help drive operational performance as the company continues its national growth.
GMR Marketing named CHRISTOPHER GRIMSTON as its new vice- president, strategic partnerships. In his new role, Grimston will help build the agency across music, entertainment, sports and lifestyle industries in the Canadian market.
