A recap of who’s headed where in marketing communications.

Rain 43 appointed DAVE CAREY to the newly-created position of vice-president, account services. Carey has more than two decades of experience in advertising and agency management, most recently as a founding partner at Union. He has also held agency management positions at Lowe Roche and Innocean, and has produced work for Audi, BMW, Kia, Colgate, Enbridge and the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Rivet Canada promoted ANGÈLE LÉVESQUE to the newly-created position of president. Lévesque, who has been with the Toronto-based agency since 2004, has served as vice-president and managing director for the last five years.

YANIK DESCHENES joined Edelman Montreal as general manager to help grow the firm’s Montreal office, which currently has a staff of more than 35. Deschenes most recently served as vice-president of global communications and business partnerships at Sid Lee. He previously held positions as president, general manager and CEO of Montreal.ad for the Association of Quebec Advertising Agencies (AAPQ), and director of corporate affairs for Walmart in Quebec.

The Exchange Lab hired NIKKI HAWKE as marketing director, North America to build and manage the programmatic marketing company’s brand in Canada and the U.S. Hawke was most recently with Juice Mobile and has also held positions at Nelvana Entertainment, Priszm and Canwest (now Shaw).

Mediative promoted CESAR ANTONIO from digital sales strategist to senior director of supply strategy to spearhead the agency’s publisher development team. Antonio has also held senior level positions at Starcom, OMD and Media Contacts Canada (now part of Havas Media Group).

Fuse Marketing Group added three new members to its team. KELLY DORIS joined as digital communications strategist, BROOK JOHNSTON returned to the agency as a copywriter after a one-year stint with Cheil Canada, and SCOTT HEANEY joined the digital department as director of delivery.

After a year with the company, St. Joseph Media’s Toronto Life publication promoted YEN TRAN from senior marketing associate to marketing manager. Tran has also held positions at Virgin Mobile Canada and Media Experts.

Mindshare Canada promoted three of its staffers to newly-created positions. SHERRI COOPER, most recently managing director of client leadership, was promoted to chief client operations; ARMIN HUSKA was promoted from managing director, digital to chief digital officer while LINA ALLES was promoted to chief trading officer.
