DAVID JONES, the former vice-president of social media at Critical Mass, opened his own business called Social Lab Inc., which is billed as a consultancy that can “develop internal social media capabilities, create social media presences with purpose, and collaborate on social-by-design campaign ideas.” Throughout his career, Jones has held positions at Thornley Fallis, Hill + Knowlton Strategies, Proximity and Blast Radius.
Rivet Toronto promoted TODD HENWOOD to the position of vice-president, creative director, and MARGARET NGAI as vice-president, data and technology. Both Ngai and Henwood are assuming more responsibility in their respective roles and are not replacing anyone.
Hill+Knowlton Strategies (H+K) added three members to its Toronto consulting team. CATHLEEN FINALY and DOMINIQUE DORAIS joined the firm as consultants, while LAUREN FRISCH joined as an assistant consultant. H+K’s Ottawa office, meanwhile, added JESSICA TURNER to its team and promoted TRISTAN ECLARIN and STEPHAN TELK from consultant to senior consultant roles.
Thinkingbox added two members to its Toronto division. SCOTT OLSEN joined the digital production house as integrated producer to lead its out of home experiential campaigns. DYLAN SCOTT, meanwhile, joined as a web developer.
1 Milk 2 Sugars hired LARA TOBIN as senior account manager. Tobin was most recently an account executive with NKPR. She has also held positions at Rock-It Promotions, The Mint Agency and Cookie Jar Entertainment.
Ariad Communications added PAYAM SHALCHIAN as UX lead for the agency’s IA/UX team, RADOSLAV RATKOVIC as senior interactive art director and CHET LAKHANI as program director.
