MARIE-JOSEE LAMOTHE joined Google as its managing director of branding and Quebec to lead its business strategy development for partners and brands across a broad range of sectors in Canada. Lamothe will work with brands in the consumer products, government, energy, consumer health care, food and beverage and travel sectors, as well as oversee all business-related activities specific to the Quebec office. Lamothe recently left L’Oreal Canada after nearly 12 years with the company.

JOHN OZIKIZLER, the former VP, managing director of Publicis Modem, joined DAC Group’s Toronto office as VP, general manager. Prior to his two-years at Publicis Modem, Ozikizler was president of MacLaren Momentum and VP, promotions at BBDO.

Ivanhoé Cambridge appointed TRACY SMITH as vice-president, digital marketing and solutions. Smith was recently chief marketing officer at Acquisio. Prior to that, he was vice-president, performance marketing and go-to-market at Yellow Pages Group. He also co-founded Ideo Consulting, a Montréal-based management consulting firm and worked for Deloitte Consulting (Braxton Associates), in Paris and in Montréal.

Tagga Media appointed NICOLE STEELE to director of marketing to spearhead brand awareness and product marketing. Steele was most recently director of marketing at QuickMobile and has held senior positions at SAP and Sage Software.

BrandHealth hired KLINT DAVIES as its associate creative director. Davies most recently held the same position with The Hive in Toronto. During his career, Davies has worked with big name brands such as brands Subway, Sport Check, Maynards and Dairy Milk.

Maritz Canada promoted PAUL MCCALLUM to vice- president, major accounts and MARIA PALLANTE to vice-president, operations.

LAUREL WALZAK has co-founded Fitneff, a company “dedicated to innovative products and solutions that help busy people make their productive time more active.” She also holds the senior vice-president sales and marketing position. Walzak spent the last six years with the National Hockey League as its director of sales. DEVON BOLTON assumed the senior brand strategist consultant and advisor role.

Hill+Knowlton Strategies (H+K) promoted MARY PAT MACKINNON and MANON ABUD to vice-presidents in its Ottawa office. MacKinnon has been with the public relations firm since 2012. Abud was a partner at Ascentum for eight years when it was acquired by H+K in 2012.
