CALVIN MCDONALD, the former head of Sears Canada, was named president and chief executive of beauty retail chain, Sephora Americas. He’s set to start Jan. 1. McDonald, who joined the struggling Sears in 2011 after nearly two decades with Loblaw Companies Limited, stepped down from his post “>last month.

Faulhaber Communications added three new members to its team. SHANNON LAW was hired as an account manager; GENEVA BOKOWSKI joined the agency as content and community manager and ILONA KHOYKER joined as a senior account executive.

RICHARD LANE joined Maritz as a marketing strategist. Lane spent the last three years as director of marketing with Pareto working on big names brands such as Loblaw, Ford, Shoppers Drug Mart, MolsonCoors and Home Depot. He has also held positons at Ariad Custom Communications and Capital C.

Stingray Digital in Montreal appointed MATHIEU PÉLOQUIN as senior vice-president, marketing and communications. Péloquin spent the last three years with TC Media, holding a number of senior-level positions. He also served as vice-president of marketing at Reader’s Digest Canada.

McKim Cringan George promoted AUDRA LESOSKY to vice-president, accounts and strategic services, appointed NAOMI MEDEIROS to vice-president, finance and operations. LINDA TIEFENBACH was promoted to vice-president, business development and TOM BORESKY was promoted to studio art director. Meanwhile PADDY MCGEE joined the creative department as a copywriter and CLAYTON RIFKIND joined the media department as senior media specialist.

GRANT CHOMIAK joined TMP Worldwide as director of new business development for Calgary and Vancouver. Chomiak has over 15 years experience. Prior to joining TMP, he held positions with TransAlta, Suncor Energy, Forzani Group, Diversified Staffing and Robert Half Finance & Accounting.

UK expat KEVIN SUTHERLAND joined Sid Lee’s Montreal office as technology director to work on the Adidas account. During his career, Sutherland has worked on global brands including Sony, Nike, Virgin, CitiBank, ESPN, and Heineken.

Exacto Communications hired ERWAN PICARD as vice-president, consulting services to work on the Reebok Canada, Altitude-sports.com and Reebok-CCM Hockey accounts, in addition to the Quebec portion of the Future Shop business. During his 20-year career, Picard has held positions at Zoum Armada, Tam Tam\TBWA, Bos and Cossette.

Beyond Marketing Group named JASON LORENCZ as its new director of client services overseeing the day-to-day operations in the Toronto office.  He will also play an instrumental role in new business development. During his 14-year career, Lorencz has worked with Ford, Rogers, Maytag, Purolator and McDonald’s.

BRENT CUTHBERTSON joined United Way of the Lower Mainland as the VP of marketing and community impact.  Cuthbertson was VP marketing for Mr. Lube Canada from 2006 to 2012 and director of marketing with Bell Canada between 2001 and 2006.
