After leaving Grip Ltd. in October, HARVEY CARROLL has popped up at IPG Mediabrands as its new CEO for Canada. Prior to his creative agency tenure, Carroll had extensive experience steering major beer brands in Canada with InBev and Interbrew/Labatt.

National Public Relations has promoted two of its staffers: JENNIFER LEE was made manager of financial communications and JOSH NORTON was promoted to manager of marketing communications. Lee has been with the agency for nearly three years working with clients in the resource, financial, infrastructure and technology sectors. Norton joined in 2012, and the company says his expertise in the consumer market has led to strong relationships with lifestyle and consumer editors.

Media Profile has also announced a number of promotions. After 17 years with the PR firm, DAVID WILLS has been made senior vice-president. JENNIFER KAISER and DANE GERGOVICH were promoted to account directors while MARIA CORTELLUCCI was made senior consultant. Rounding out the promotions are ERIAK CASUPANAN and SARAH PATTILLO, who are now consultants.

ELLIOT GAUTHIER joined Hill + Knowlton Strategies as a research director in its public engagement and research group in Ottawa.

Art director DANNY BANG and copywriter KELLY UMAN have joined Doug + Serge. Bang arrives from BBDO where he contributed to Skittles and Doritos work. Uman has worked at Innocean, Saatchi & Saatchi, and on the Cannes-winning “Carly’s CafĂ©” at John St.

Digital production firm Jam3 has hired GRAHAM BUDD as executive producer to work on Canadian advertising and entertainment clients. Formerly the director of business development at Secret Location and director of branded content at Cue Digital Media, Budd also has experience working at Lowe Roche, Publicis and Grip Ltd.

Finally, Stephen Thomas has announced its three most recent promotions. PAULA ATTFIELD is adding the word “executive” to her vice-president’s title, while creative director BRYAN TENENHOUSE will add “vice-president” to his title. TASLIM SOMANI was promoted from director of digital marketing to vice-president, digital and marketing strategy.
