One Earth Farms hires Butter Public Relations

Organic agri-business aims to raise awareness for key brands

One Earth Farms has named Butter Public Relations its PR agency of record.

Butter PR will primarily handle PR activities for Beretta Farms, a 20-year-old organic farming operation that One Earth Farms acquired in 2013, as well as Sweetpea Baby Food, an organic baby food company that was also acquired by One Earth Farms.

Shawn Rusich, owner/director at Butter PR, said his agency will focus on publicizing Beretta Farms co-founder Cynthia Beretta as a spokesperson for the organic meat brand. The firm will also promote Beretta Kitchen, a Toronto-based catering company that uses antibiotic- and hormone-free meat.

Sweetpea Baby Food, meanwhile, is undergoing a rebrand, which Butter PR will help promote. “Sweetpea has been around [since 2004] and it needs some life injected into it,” said Rusich.

Fiona Haig, marketing director at One Earth Farms, worked with Butter PR when she was with All-Clad. “They’re great people to help push out lifestyle brands,” she said. “With the rise in popularity of our types of products, we have a great need to educate consumers about what makes our products so special.”

One Earth Farms was launched in 2009 by Sprott Resource Corp., a resource-focused private equity investor.
