One Show shortlists released

Leo Burnett dominates the list of Canadian finalists for the upcoming One Show awards in New York City with 19 mentions across three award programs: One Show Design, One Show Interactive and the tent pole One Show advertising awards.

Leo Burnett dominates the list of Canadian finalists for the upcoming One Show awards with 19 mentions across three award programs: One Show Design, One Show Interactive and the tent pole One Show advertising awards.

Eleven of Leo Burnett’s nods are in the main One Show advertising competition for work on James Ready, the discount Canadian beer brand for which the agency has been producing eye-catching (and award-winning) homespun outdoor ads and promotions. However, the agency’s “Love vs. Hate” video for the Advertising and Design Club of Canada has five nods in the design contest and one in the ad contest as well.

Its other two finalist entries are “Silk vs. Milk” for White Wave Foods and the agency’s internal “Christmas Bags,” both entered in Design.

Montreal’s Sid Lee earned five spots on the shortlists—four Interactive nods for various Adidas projects and a Design placement for Bota Bota, the spa it created on a barge moored in Montreal’s harbour.

Juniper Park also earned five finalist nods. Its four Design contenders are all for client Canadian Journalists for Free Expression, and its sole Interactive contender is “Close to Home” for the Walk Without Fear Foundation.

TBWA\Vancouver (currently operating as Trees and Rocks) and Red Urban Canada garnered four finalist placements apiece. Trees and Rocks found favour with three clients (Vancouver International Film Festival, Smart Canada and the Canadian National Institute for the Blind) in Interactive and again with VIFF in the main One Show.
