The Jetstar Group has hired Julie Petch as president, effective Nov. 23.

Petch is filling the role left by Andrew Turner, who will retain his position as CEO. Though Turner will remain involved he will be spending less time at the agency to pursue entrepreneurial endeavours, he said.

The agency decided on Petch after a four-month nationwide search, because “she’s very professional,” said Turner. “She inspires a lot of confidence and trust; she’s very intelligent.”

Petch leaves her role as group account director at Capital C Communications where she worked on Cineplex Entertainment, Scotiabank and Pepsi (also a client of Jetstar).

Turner had worked with Petch on several Pepsi projects, and was “excited” to see her name on the applicant list, he said.

Among her duties, Petch will be tasked with growing the agency’s U.S.-based business, which currently makes up approximately 30% of the agency’s client roster, said Turner.

“This new role is exactly the challenge I have been looking for in my career,” Petch said in a release. “I look forward to fostering new collaboration and growth to ensure The Jeststar Group’s continued success in delivering engaging programs for clients throughout North America.”
