PraxisPR, the Mississauga, Ont. agency, has changed its name to simply Praxis, part of a broader rebranding effort the firm has revealed to kick-off 2012.

In addition to the name change, Praxis has redesigned its website, instituted a company blog and unveiled a new logo. The updated visual identity features the colours blue, green and white.

Maureen Juniper, agency partner and co-founder, said the new year was the appropriate time to introduce refreshed branding and positioning for the 12-year-old firm. In particular, she said, the previous name did not reflect the agency’s expanding responsibilities.

“The industry has changed and the scope of services offered by what I would call the traditional PR firms has changed as a result,” said Juniper. “That’s true of us as well.

“We felt that we were offering a lot more services today than we have in the past that are not specifically traditional public relations. The most obvious one would be social media, because that’s changed our industry tremendously in the last few years.”

Praxis clients include PepsiCo Beverages Canada, Quaker Canada, LasikMD and Media Headquarters. The latter two clients represent two of the agency’s most recent wins, having signed on with Praxis last fall.

The Praxis rebranding comes on the heels of a similar initiative from Hill & Knowlton Canada, which has rebranded as Hill + Knowlton Strategies.
