Media, advertising and digital agencies fared quite well on the Profit 200 list of the fastest-growing businesses in Canada.

Mood Media, an in-store music, scent and visual media company, took the number one spot on the 2011 list. After acquiring Muzak this year (only part of its 2010 acquisition spree), it has become the definitive provider of background store music. Jumping from seven to nearly 900 employees, its revenue between 2005 and 2010 increased more than 72,000%. Last fiscal year’s revenue reached more than $144,000,000.

Marketing related businesses account for 10% of the 2011 Profit 200. Listed by their ranking number and five-year revenue growth, they are:

15. The Official Community Corp. (2,903%)
